My name is Gudrun Teigen, and I am a bilingual mental health therapist. Having been born and raised in Lima, Peru, by bilingual parents, I learned English and Spanish at the same time, which has been very beneficial in my ability to serve Spanish-speaking populations. I began working in the mental health and addictions field in 2005, and have experience working in a variety of settings including: residential treatment for co-occurring disorders, outpatient dual recovery program for adolescents, inpatient chemical dependency treatment, domestic violence shelter, outpatient mental health center, and community clinic and hospital.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, going to the gym, and traveling. I am a single mom to identical twin girls, and together we enjoy shopping, going to the movies, working out, traveling, and attending church with our faith community. I am diligent with self-care and believe in the importance of setting oneself up for success, since we never know what unexpected challenges the day might bring. This is something I encourage each and every one of my clients to practice as well, and after years of trial and error, I have plenty of tips and tricks to help others succeed in their self-care regimen.
